Sixty Four

It was late when he got back, but he didn't think the house would be as quiet as it was. He dropped his bag on the floor of the hall and walked to the kitchen. As he entered, he walked to the fridge in the partial darkness, the only light coming from the ray of moonlight from outside.

Everything was in shadows, but he was able to walk around it. Soon, the security light from outside would be turned on, and it would reflect into the kitchen as it moved around from the security tower on the east side of the house.

He got out a bottle of water and threw his head back to drink his to his full, not minding to grab a cup. He was that thirsty. Going from one meeting to another had just about dried him off his strength and made him so perched, that he drank almost all the content of the bottle.

Summer and Spring would be asleep by now, seeing as he had already talked with them after dinner over a video call that Ruby had prompted, which reminded him that he needed to go see her.
