Isis...Isis
Her name, each time came out more insistent, the words beginning as a muffled sound only to rise in tempo, her eyes jutted open, only to cringe at the sunlight entering into the room. Her attention going to the silhouette standing above her bed. She blinked a few times to allow the image to register into her brain, so fatigued was Isis that the fact that Mr. Greyson stood above her bed staring at her didn't faze her. She looked at him, a silent signal for him to say what was on his mind.
Isis opened her eyes after one of the best night's sleep she had in a really long time. She looked around the empty room and eased her eyes shut and sighed. She knew she was unable to fall back asleep and decided to get up. She pulled the covers off of her and stood. She looked down at what she was wearing...Mr. Greyson's shirt! Last night occurrences flooded her mind and she instantly remembered what happened...what she had initiated! She buried her face into her palms, embarrassment being the dominant emotion."Morning." The one person she didn't want to confront spoke.
"Is this, like a relationship sort of thing now?" Alex questioned, her eyes focusing on Isis."I am not sure." She admitted. Isis knew what happened between her and Mr. Greyson, in physicality but the theory surrounding their 'relationship' left her feeling confused and uncertain.Alex sighed and bit her lip in contemplation. "I have no clue how your Phantom thinks so I can't exactly make an assumption, however, my educated guess suggests that the two of you are in for more of what happened
"Is everything alright?"Lex leisurely turned to face a fellow lecturer eying him curiously. He hindered his anxious tapping and smiled. "Of course.""Oh, you just seem distracted." She commented as a reason for her intrusion."Lots of papers to grade, forgive me for being such horrible company." He responded smoothly as
"No, no, no." Isis groaned as her laptop spontaneously began logging off. She was in the middle of doing an assignment and it felt as if her blood pressure was skyrocketing."This cannot be happening." She said to no one at all as she began feeling nervous. She didn't write much but the little she did write was imperative to her report. She restarted the laptop and prayed that auto-recovery was employed. Seeing that it was, she sighed in relief. She didn't know what would've happened if it
The warm sun heating the rich grains of sand underneath Isis was the least of her worries. Her eyes and senses were locked on the male specimen making its way towards her. She really hadn't thought about it until now but Lex's arrogance was not suited for the classroom. He was so self-assured and she could see him in a position of high authority, after all, he already acted as if he and he alone should be obeyed. After lunch, he checked them into a hotel and insisted that they visited the beach, but from where she sat, it wasn't such a terrible view. Lex was wearing a pair of shorts that made Isis stare at his powerful, muscle laced legs. The white shirt that
Just a moment's rest. This was the four words on repetition in Isis's mind. She closed her eyes momentarily giving in to the impulse. She was drifting further into unconsciousness but she was too tired to care. Her eyelids were heavy, her limbs no longer listening to her mind's command to move, to shake off the chains of restlessness. With an earthshattering shake, she was released and reality came into focus. "Falling asleep at school now?" Oliver's rich humor-filled baritone brought her to the realization that he had taken a seat beside her.
"Hey, there party animal." Isis rose her head to look at Oliver. She had sought refuge in the library, a necessary means of avoiding Alex and Oliver but her attempts were futile."Whatever it is, the answer is no." She responded decisively only to be rewarded with the sound of his rich laughter as he eased down next to her. For the past three days, Oliver and Alex used their efforts to ensure that Isis was never alone. Their good intentions were exhausting since their meddling resulted in Isis getting little to no sleep for those nights. She knew they were trying to ensure she didn't miss Lex but she couldn't deal with their schemes any longer.
Lex tried several times to contact Isis, but the call never went through. She was avoiding him. At the library, she hadn't even looked at him when she eased out of her seat and made her way out, and like a fool, the only thing he could've done was watch her leave. The entire school was in a flurry about his engagement. He rubbed his eyes out of frustration. This was not supposed to happen yet. He threw his phone on his desk after another failure, his fists banging uncontrollably on the desk.Isis picked at her dinner. She had just completed reading the article. She laughed humourlessly. Lex wasn't heir to just any empire but one of the hugest conglomerations.
