Dreams and Toture

It was a strange dream. The last time she had it was five years ago and ever since then the dream hadn't recurred.

Seeing herself in the environment again was like a jolt to her. How did she know it was a dream though?

She always felt so distant from what was happening. The events were there unfolding before her eyes but rather it felt like she was looking at it through a mirror.

A distant mirror, unable to do anything but just watch.

Delilah was in the woods again. She was barefoot and the dry leaves and snapped twigs poked at her exposed flesh.

In front of her she could see lights in the distance, orange flickering lights that led her to believe it was camp fires.

In the dream she was always drawn to the light. It called her like a bulb would call to a moth after a downpour.

Delilah walked toward the light her whole concentration fixed on getting to the light.

No other thing in the woods mattered at that moment except reaching the source of that light.
