CHAPTER 43

“Adrain?” she called again raising her head from his body using her hands to wipe her face clean. She slipped her hands into his shirt and placed her ear against his chest. His heart wasn’t beating anymore, he was just quiet; too quiet.“Is someone there?” she screamed her voice hoarse from all the crying. “Can someone please help me?” she whispered as her sobs took over swallowing her up. This was all her fault. She had wanted to be far away from him so bad and now not only was she stuck with him but he wasn’t even alive anymore. “I’m so stupid!!”

‘Well, you got what you wanted didn’t you? You wanted to be free from him, you didn’t want his punishments any longer, you couldn’t take it all and so you decided to run away. He ran after you to rescue you and now he is dead because of you. You should be proud.’Sara shook her head vigorously trying to push all the voices in her head away but it only seemed to get louder no matter how much she tried.
