Chapter 30: What Was Going On?

Isabelle’s Point of View:

We had been driving for quite some time when I received a message. Hurriedly, I checked it out and it was indeed from him.

“Shoot. You ran off? With that jackass?”

Without any reaction from my side, I showed it to Achilles. As scary as it was that this person knew our every move, most of it was probably fabricated guess or just circumstantial opinion. And the last thing I needed to do right now was worry.

“So you wanna go back?” Ace asked me.

“Huh?” I asked before turning the screen toward me and saw he had messaged again.

“Okay, fine. I give up. I’ll catch you later. Don’t run away now.”

I exhaled. After thinking for a moment, I gave him my thoughts. “Uh, I don’t know. This is probably a trap.”

“I suppose,” He replied. “But I don’t know, I mean, why would he warn us first if he wanted the surprise element? And if he doesn't, then it means that he genuinely wants us to go back to our lives, right?”
