Chapter 60: Mother, Go Away

Achilles’ Point of View:

“Mr. Roman, Ms. Isabelle’s mother is here. Because of your previous mention, I thought to inform you before she can meet her.”

I exhaled. What the fuck? Why was she here? And why would she come here after all this time?

After processing my reply, I spoke. “Uh, I’ll be there and have a conversation with her first. Thank you for informing me.”

“That’s alright. Thank you.” The call ended and I looked at Carlos, who just looked back at me equally confused.

“Well, I think we should go,” I said, “You coming?”

“Uh, sure,” He grinned and I smiled, hurrying to the car and then driving back to the hospital.

We reached inside and found mom standing in the reception hall. She looked at me confused before coming toward me with a smile.

“Oh, Achilles, how have you been?” Her voice was filled with care—I didn’t know if it was fake or not.
