Past and the death

In the hospital, Richard was proclaimed to be out of danger by the doctors. But a couple of his ribs are broken and one of his ankles is fractured.

"Thank the lord that you are safe my son. What would happen to me if something had to happen to you?" Richard's mother, Sandra Nina cried softly from beside his hospital bed.

Richard tried to give her a weak assuring smile.

"I am fine mom" he whispered. His voice sounded croaky and rusty.

Sandra sighed heavily still reeling from the trauma of the accident.

"I am sorry mom. You must be feeling terrible especially after the back to back accidents of me and dad" Richard spoke weakly, feeling how much her mother must have been scared.
