7-All Work and No Play

I get back with the food order and don’t knock, but walk into the office. Adam is seated at the conference table, while Vivian and the man whose name I still don’t know make their presentation.

I set up Adam’s plate and drink in front of him and make similar places for the other two.

“Thank you, baby,” Adam says, making everyone stop and stare at him.

“That was inappropriate, and I don’t appreciate it,” I tell him in the most professional way possible. “My name is Evie, or Miss Shaw.”

Vivian looks impressed and watches Adam, as he and I stare at each other.

Me- Tell him to keep it professional, or I'll find a new firm.

Stacey- He apologizes and asks if you can discuss it later.

Me- He needs to apologize now, in front of them.

“I apologize, that was unprofessional and rude,” Adam says, looking me in the eye.

“Thank you for your apology. I will be at my desk,” I take the box that I carried everything in and left.
