“Hey there,” I say smiling at my prodigal mate.

“Though hell barred the way,” he tells me.

“Jove has already complained about what he had to do,” I tell him.

“Did he tell you how I was determined to get back to you?” Colton asks.

“Yeah, but Venus and I can’t imagine why? I mean it’s not like you love me or anything. It’s just the supernatural mate bond. It’s not really real,” I tease him and he shakes his head.

“I don’t take a bath in literal shit because of a mate bond,” Colton pulls me close.

“No,” I say. “Shower first. I get it was your soul swimming in dog intestines but still the image.”

He rolls his eyes. “Fine.”

Apollo, Dalton, Evie, Adam, and my parents all nod in agreement. Shower buddy!

Colton spent four days dead and six more in the belly of a dog.

It’s no wonder Leo, Merrick, Hazel and Lilly spent hours at his feet wanting to hear every detail.
