I walk to the office with Millie in her baby carrier even though I'm not very happy with her at the moment. Her presence in our bed yesterday ruined my chance at a little relief, but I still owe her the world for making it so I can even be in the same bed as Nukea.

"Hey, Holly," I greet her when I see her, poised as always, "Can you get me an espresso?"

"Uhm, I think you're going to want something stronger," she murmurs and gives me that look she's only given me a few times, when something is wrong, "Liam is waiting for you in your office and he's clearly ready for a fight."

I close my eyes and groan with stress. I'm not looking forward to be in close vicinity to him, but of course Liam wouldn't accept being ghosted for too long.
