10. A Past Connection

This time, I didn’t dare transform. Whoever it was, didn’t sound friendly. I could sense Akira coming back to her normal self. She had become alert. ‘What happened to me?’ she asked in a panicked tone. I scoffed but did not answer her. Right now, that wasn’t my concern. Sun rays streamed in through broken windows and wherever they had found a crack. Creepers and roots had embraced the walls like one would wrap a scarf around their neck in winter. The place was creepy and gave off bad vibes.
“I didn’t believe it when I got the news about your ‘rebirth’. I had laughed for quite some time, but now I see that the news is true,” the masculine voice said playfully. Rebirth? What the hell?
“But it’s sad that you got to become a...dog this time,” he said contemptuously, spewing nonsense
