Hilda’s pov

"Congratulations Hilda. You really deserve it. You worked for it, and I am so glad; your unique green eye will be seen by everyone all over the city!"

I coughed

"Thank you, Ruthy," I Responded in my lowest tone while trying so hard to mask the real face behind what she was seeing.

The more I wished for Ruthy to leave my side, the more she felt more relaxed with me.

Ruthy has been like the sister I never had. She is very fun to be with, and she always takes care of me.

"Hilda, why do you look hasty?" She questioned me, and I scratched the back of my neck before returning my gaze, and my eyes locked with hers.

"Even if you are able to mask your feelings from our colleagues, you know you can’t hide the fact that you are not happy."
