74. Unspoken History

Athena's POV

Instinctively, I replied, "Mother?" unsure of the appropriate word to address her, after knowing my real mother died years ago.

My utmost shock was finding her in Dante's palace, holding Cosmo.

"It's truly you, Athena," she breathed, her voice breaking from the same feeling I felt. Longing.

She was alive all these years. All these years I wished I had someone to share my anguish.

My foster mother, or rather my mother was alive. She was the only woman in my life that stood the mother figure for me.

I forgot all about everything for the next moment and ran into her weak embrace.

My eyes watered as I looked in awe at her.

Every strand of her hair was grey. But there was no mistaking her eyes and her voice.

I hugged her again. Unable to believe my eyes.

"Fate has brought us back together. I never thought i'ld find you ever again," she sobbed. I took her hands, as he seemed to be weak. I guided her to one of the seats in the lobby.
