The next day...
Justin had picked out his suit for the wedding and although his mother insisted he has a bachelor's night where he'll invite all the single men from work and his friends from school, he has refused blatantly knowing it won't even be the same without jaden.
He bought and brought his suit to the hospital and wore it so his mother could see it since she couldn't follow him to the designer's shop.
"You look dashing," Mrs smith complimented.
"Don't I ever?" Justin said and went to pull it off soon afterwards.
"So are you going to do it?" His mother asked.
"Do what?" He asked pretending not to know what she was talking about.
"The bachelor's night," his mother said.
"You know I can't do it," Justin said.
"Is this because of Jaden?" His mother asked.
Justin looked at
Chapter 19Saturday - Bridal shower/bachelor's night."Do you think instead of my bar, we should go to a club instead?" Tyler asked."Spoilt brat," Valerie said teasing Tyler."You have detective Joe now, don't you think you should stick to him," Valerie asked."He hasn't asked me out yet so I have time to play," Tyler said."Same here," Valerie said with a sigh."What's that supposed to mean?" Tyler asked noticing the look on Valerie's face."I mean I'm getting married to a man who never asked me out not to talk lest about proposing," Valerie said."It's fine Valerie, this marriage will be blissful, who knows you might have kids," Tyler encouraged."Kids my foot," Valerie said with a shrug."He acts like he has a split personality, this minute he's all-lovi
Scott took the train back to Central City and tried to gather info from the news and gossips on what had happened between the rich Houston's and Smith's since he left. He couldn't gather much so he went to his house and found out that it was empty. All his things weren't inside."Are you Mr. Scott?" Someone asked and he turned to look at a man in his late 40s standing behind him."Yes, that's me," Scott said."I'm the owner of this building, I can show you where your things were stored," the man said."You mean you own this place?" Scott asked."Well, technically it was sold to me a few weeks back but I forgot to change the lock that's why you are still able to enter it," the man explained."No that's not my point, why are my things not here?" Scott asked."I just told you that I was sold this place," the man repeated.
Valerie had stormed out of Star Lounge in rage. How could he? She had wondered. He came to ruin her bridal shower and even brought his side chick. She was confused by his behavior, why couldn't he just let her be? When she was finally getting over him? When she had finally found peace and tried to accept this arranged marriage planned out for her?She took Tyler's car and drove to a bar on the other side of town. It was more like a modern barbeque restaurant with strong alcohol run by Koreans. They had a dance floor too at another part and played different genres and languages of music for those who wanted to dance. It was a very big place where they had a bar, a dance floor, a bar, and even a few rooms for those who pass out with no one to come and pick them. Just the kind of place Valerie needed. A place that had a unique set of things and people that won't care what she'll do."One serving of pork cutlet and one serving of meat with
Justin woke up as early as he could, they were still at another side of town so he had to get to work as fast as he could. He left a note for Valerie and paid for the room and left.He had already left before he remembered that the day was Sunday and he was free to stay longer but he felt it was a good call that he left because he wondered how Valerie would feel when she wakes up and find him there with her.He drove to the hospital to stay with his mom and he met his father there."Good morning," he said coldly."Good morning son," Mr. Smith said."How are you doing mother," Justin asked ignoring his father."I'm better than I was before," Mrs. Smith answered."Well, that's great," Justin said."So, how was it?" His mother asked."Noisy and uncomfortable," Justin said."That
"I'm not twenty-one anymore, you can't hit me," Justin said and pushed his hands away. "If only you had been more of a husband to your wife, then she wouldn't be in the hospital there with a brain tumor that is going to kill her in few months," Justin yelled and walked out. Valerie was not far from the hallway so she heard and saw all that transpired between them both although Justin who was storming out didn't see her. She had been curious so she had gone to eavesdrop on their conversation. She quickly returned to her seat and while they waited for Justin and Mr. Smith to get back, she wondered if that was what Mr. Smith meant by they were not fond of each other. Mr. Smith came back soon afterward without Justin so he made an excuse that Justin had an urgent meeting to attend to. But Valerie knew he was lying about it. When Mr. Smith left and Mr. Houston had retu
Chapter 24Monday was supposed to be a hectic day but it wasn't as Justin sat by his mother's bed all night waiting for her to wake up and Valerie had dreams about Justin all night long.Valerie woke up and went to have a bath. She cursed herself for caring so much for someone who wouldn't even spare her a glance when they were together but yet would save her from going with a stranger when she's drunk. Her phone rang and she picked it."Xavier!" she exclaimed."How are you, Valerie?" Xavier said."I'm fine, why are you suddenly calling me?" Valerie asked."What's the occasion?" Valerie asked."Oh it's nothing, I just realized that I have never asked you about your wedding preparations," Xavier said."After you disappeared from Central City with JoJo and the kids, you are suddenly asking me about
Scott was sleeping when he heard a knock on the door."Who is it?" He asked and went to open the door."Open the door Scott," Martin said and Scott opened the door."What is this rubbish, Scott?" Ronnie asked immediately he entered inside.Martin punched him on his chin and Scott started bleeding."Come on guys, I'm fine," Scott said."Fine?, who cares If you are not fine," Martin roared."How could you come back to Central City in this state?" Ronnie asked."I needed to do something," Scott said."What?" Martin asked."You could have told us and we'll do it for you," Ronnie said."Valerie sold my apartment," Scott said landing the bombshell."Is this about that Valerie girl?" Martin said and scoffed."Don't tell u
Chapter 26Valerie and Tyler had picked out a few things in the mall, they picked out a few pieces of jewelry, hats they could wear to the beach, matching boots, a lot of chocolates to munch on while on the plane, a few flowers printed tops for Valerie and a pack of gummy bears too.Valerie was still picking out a few things when Tyler tapped her to look at whom they had in their front."If it isn't the side chick of our beloved Scott," Tyler said."And the mouthpiece of our wife to be," Samantha said."Shut your trap," Tyler rasped."Let her, She'll just ruin your mood," Valerie said.Samantha was stunned, how could she shut her up before she had a chance to say anything at all."You must think you are all it because you are getting married to a billionaire," Samantha said."You must think you ar
