Twenty-Five

ZORA'S POV

I pored over some documents and went through several emails in the meantime. Freya was saying something to Cheryl who was thankfully keeping her company.

Freya was talking about what she and her brother had been up to the previous day. I was not paying them much attention. I just kept looking up and grunting in response whenever I had their conversation interspersed with 'Mummy."

My phone rang then, startling Freya into silence. A smile lifted the corners of my lips as the caller ID showed Katherine was on the line. Cheryl and Freya kept talking in hushed tones now. I relaxed and turned around in my swivel chair to face the wall.

"Hello, Kathy. Miss me already?" I said.

She was not listening to me, however. She was already talking as soon as I picked up the call.

"Send a driver to pick me up at the airport, Zora," she said.

I blinked in surprise, not sure if I had heard her properly.

"Wait! What? I did not quite get that. What was that you just said?"
