Chapter 49

Ava gathered her things and followed Ethan off the plane. Immediately her feet landed on the ground, he pulled her to his body and enveloped her in a hug.

'Welcome to Russia,' he said. 'I'm so glad you're here.' Ava hugged him back and said, 'I'm glad to be here too.' she said as she looked around and took in the scenery of the country. It was beautiful.

They collected their luggage and headed out of the airport. As they stepped outside, Ava was hit with a blast of cold air.

She hadn't been expecting the weather to be so chilly.

'It's a bit cold, isn't it?' Ethan said. 'It's always like this in winter,' he said. 'It's not too bad once you get used to it.' He helped Ava into their ride and they headed towards the city center.

The buildings were covered in a layer of snow, and the streets were lined with Christmas lights. Ava felt a sense of excitement as they pulled up to the house they would be staying.
