Involving The Police!

Ezra felt strange when his hand landed on the other side of the bed and Emma wasn't by his side. He opened both eyes and turned to look at the other side, but she wasn't there. As he sat straight, he sighed. His head swung from side to side as he looked for her. “Where did she go?” He stood up from his bed and reached down to pick up his pants that were on the floor.

He called out after taking a breath. “Emma.” He called once more. "Emma," but no one responded. Ezra retrieved his phone and looked at the time. "It's eight already. Father will be furious.” Wearing his pants, he entered the restroom to brush his teeth.

Ezra's only thought was that Emma had left for a short while and would return shortly. As Ezra came out of the bathroom and walked to his bed to grab his shirt, he tripped over something and almost fell.

However, he caught himself and turned to see what he had stepped on. He was shocked to find his wallet on the ground. He bent down to pick it up and examine it. “Do I have two of these?” After giving it one more glance, he suddenly gasped and looked to the table where he had left his wallet and car key the night before. “What is happening?” He looked at the table, but found nothing.

When he knelt to see if it had fallen, there was nothing there under the table. “Perhaps I can't remember where I kept it.” He chuckled as he pulled his phone from his pocket. He checked his contacts and tried to call Emma's number, but it didn't connect. “Is her phone dead?” He tried it again, but the same thing happened.

Ezra walked to the closet to get some new clothes, and Scott's voice was muddled as the door flew open. "Did you leave with your car last night and not bring it back?"

“What are you talking about?” Ezra started looking through his clothes before abruptly stopping. He swung around to face Scott. “What are you talking about?”

“I came to ask you if you went out with your car and didn't bring it back because it isn't where you left it last night.”

Ezra scoffed. “You mean my car isn't parked where it was supposed to be?”

“Ezra, I just said that.”

“Oh, shit!” Ezra shouted as he furiously shut the wardrobe. He approached the table and opened the drawer, but all he saw inside was a box of condoms. Then he went over to the trash to see if he had carelessly thrown away his key, but all he could find was last night's used condom. “I didn't toss that in the trash,” referring to the condom.

"Last night, you were with a woman?"

Ezra exhaled and handed his wallet to Scott. “It all makes sense now.”

“What do you mean?”

"Scott, I've been robbed," he said.

"I-I don't understand. How can you be robbed?”

Ezra groaned in frustration and turned to look at his friend. “It was her. It all makes sense now.”

“Who is her? I must say, my friend, that you are not making sense.” Ezra received his wallet back from Scott.

Ezra held up the wallet for Scott to properly look at. "Last night, money was in this wallet. There were a lot of them, and my sister Winter was supposed to receive them. Dad wouldn't give her money because she wouldn't return home, so I withdrew just enough to give her without leaving any evidence that I had sent her money. However, the money is now gone, and so is my car key.”

“And your car.” Scott completed. "Tell me. Who do you believe might have robbed you? Can you tell me what exactly happened last night? Because I looked everywhere and suddenly you were nowhere to be found."

Ezra took a breath and sat down on the edge of the bed. He had his arms crossed. Holding his head high, he turned to face Scott. "Yesterday I met this girl and..."

Scott immediately cut him off. “Oh no. You are aware of how these girls are. When will you realize you shouldn't have affairs with women you meet at parties?”

"Well, playboy, this one was different; at least, I thought she was." Ezra spoke while gritting his teeth. “I thought she was different. She appeared to be so innocent, and even the words that came out of her mouth made perfect sense.”

Scott guffawed. “Ah! It's always the innocent one.”

"No, Scott, not funny. Emma is gone.”

“Wait. The chick you met was Emma?”

Ezra's mouth opened briefly before being quickly shut. "Do you know her? because I am aware of your popularity among women.”

Scott cleared his throat. "Yes, I do, but we never got a chance to meet. I was supposed to meet her at last night's party thanks to the introduction from her friend Phoebe. It's funny that she met you and not me.”

"I'm not following." Ezra expressed his frustration.

"Ezra, look. Emma is having financial problems, and I planned to assist her—but not without a price. According to her friend, she was very new and had never had a man under her. Of course not until you." Scott rolled his eyes.

Ezra gave a head shake. “I don’t still understand where you are getting at, Scott.”

"She was aware of what she needed to do to obtain money from me and noticed you beforehand. A fresh boy is hiding his identity.” Scott smirked. “You had your way with her, and she stole from you,” he added.

“We made love. I didn’t force her to sleep with me. It was mutual.”

Scott laughed hysterically at those words. “Oh, please, Ezra. Girls like that don’t make love. They have an extreme desire for money and will do anything to obtain it. She recognized you and approached you before using you, even if it meant giving up her virginity.”

Ezra let out a frustrated sigh. “I can’t believe this is happening.”

“Well, my friend,” Scott placed his hand on Ezra’s shoulder. "Put your shirt on. I'll drive you home. Your father already called and said he couldn’t get through to you.”

Ezra remained seated there for some time as he observed Scott leave the room. He took a deep breath and sighed. Still in shock, he couldn't believe what was happening. He stood to his feet and wore his shirt before heading out of his room.

Ezra arrived at Scott's vehicle, put on his sunglasses, and climbed inside. Scott turned on the engine and sped off. He could see how depressed Ezra was, so neither of them spoke during the journey.

When they arrived at the Queen's mansion, he put the car to a stop and turned to face Ezra. "You must not inform your father of this. Not yet.”

“He will figure it out.” As he unbuckled his seatbelt, Ezra said.

“Look, if you want to find your car and the girl, I've got a suggestion.”

Scott caught Ezra's attention. “What do you have in mind?”

With a smirk, Scott said, "Why don't we involve the police?"
