Giselle could hear them and knew who they’d belonged to even without opening her eye.

She felt her body being lifted from its place on the floor. Warmth engulfed her, a feeling contrary to the temperature dropping damp room.

Feeling a familiar warmth and body embrace, the brunette relaxed, relief finally washing over her entire being and her mind being put at easy.

She slightly stirred in the embrace, pushing her body as close as she could, wanting to feel more of his heat and presence.

At that, the grip around her tightened in a reassuring manner.

It was far more reassuring than she had expected. The amount of care and compassion she was getting from a single hug alone, melted the remaining walls of her heart, giving way for the feeling she had tired to surprise.

Just before falling back into her slumber, a small smile spread across her lips as she thought. ‘Ezra came.’
