Chapter - 39

Nick's pov; 

I returned to my desk and started the emails which I haven't checked for these days when I went on a business trip.

"Why is that place so dark and doomed?" Carol asked Chuck. 

"It's been dark since he talked with Elena." 

"Did they two fight?"

"I don't think so. When I talk to Elena, she doesn't sound upset or mad."

"Did you ask him?"

"Please..."

"Why are you scared of him?"

"Oh. So aren't you scared? If you aren't then go and ask for him."

"About that, l-I got work to do..."

I said, "You two! Go and talk somewhere else."

Chuck and Carol looked shocked and moved away from my desk. I let out a sigh and continued working. Why am I feeling so low? It's not like she rejected me for the first time.
