AMANDA’s POV.

The moment Jason divulged that I would be greatly punished, I thought that I had merely heard wrongly.

However, when I saw them taking me out of the room where I had been to the room meant for punishing pack members, I knew that he was right about what he had said.

Still, I couldn’t understand why…

All I did was try to find out what laid in the secret room, specifically because I felt so connected to it. Was that a crime as well?

I cried and pleaded with Jason, but he turned a dead ear to all my pleas and that shattered me greatly.

And then, I caught sight of the coal which they poured on the track before me.

If there was any punishment I greatly detested in the pack, it was the one that involved walking on the hot coal.

Even in my dreams or imagination, I never thought that I would be here on this day, walking on the coal.

“Jason, please, don’t do this!” I pleaded again, but his eyes remained firm and unperturbed.
