Chapter seventy two

JASON’s POV..

My heart dropped out of my chest the moment I caught sight of Amanda who was currently strapped in a manner that would limit her movement.

She looked miserable and for a minute, I wished I could run over to her and help her out of her current situation. However, I shoved the thoughts out of my mind when I remembered that duty comes first before feelings.

“Jason! I’m so glad you are here! Look at how they strapped me up here”, she said as she sighed in relief, hoping that I would help her out.

“They tied me up in chains! My hands are hurting and my legs are burning”, she explained and again, I felt a pang of pain in my heart, but I shoved it aside almost immediately.

She struggled with the chain on her hands and feets but just as I thought, she wasn’t strong enough to contend with it.

I had a hundred questions in my heart at the moment. How was she able to outnumber the guards whom I had placed on watch?
