Chapter Fifty One- Just A Phone Call

After being glued to the laptop screen for some hours, she decided to take a break. That was how it was for her when there were no meetings for the day. As soon as her gaze met the bouquet on her desk again, she thought about Marcus. He hadn't come to see her yet, or maybe he wasn't even coming after their little fight in the morning. He had disposed off some of her properties, given to her by her late dad without her consent and when she tried to tell him how valuable they were despite them looking old, he flared up. Keeping malice wasn't her thing. She searched for her phone to call him, hoping to thank him for the flowers thereafter.

“How's your lazy ass coping with work today?”

“Much better than how your diligent ass is.”

“Coming down for lunch? You know we missed breakfast.”

“Not hungry.” He replied curtly.

“Really? No issues then, I called to say thank you for the flowers. They are lovely.”

“What flowers are you talking about?”

Her voice went silent over the phone.

“Cass?”
