Chapter 58

The building was so big that it had too many floors. I was still in the elevator trying to not be nervous. It wasn't helping that much because I ended up overthinking every one of my decisions.

The elevator dinged and hissed open, I stepped out of it slowly. The floor was a big one with so many offices, the directions still echoed in my head.

"The conference room opposite the elevator."

There was another reception and several cubicles, with people working behind their desks.

Chill air blew over me as I walked the passageway, void of people. It was obvious that I was new here but I paid no mind to the stares and questioning looks I got from those standing in the way, glued to the wall with whispers falling from their mouths. I was asked to go into the conference room and knock, so I stayed with finding the conference room first.

I found the large room behind the glass doors. Breathing, and pacing myself, I knocked.
