Author's Pov The busy streets of the city were bustling with the usual hustle and bustle. Grace's mind was occupied with her last interaction with Ashton Knight. The kiss to be precise. She couldn't get it out of her system the whole night. She tossed and turned after leaving abruptly from Ashton's place, realizing the position she had put herself into. There was obviously an awkward tension between them. Why was she even doing all of this? She was supposed to concentrate on the latest project she was working on. Author's Pov Grace looked at Ashton expectantly, waiting for him to comply with her demand. His hands were fisted under his desk and by the looks he was very uncomfortable to utter the words that were alien to him. "Come on," she mouthed to him discreetly with her arms folded on her chest. Ashton saw the signal from her and took the opportunity to run his eyes between her and Stella who stood in the room that felt so hot because of the tension, despite the chilling air conditioners doing their job. She didn't know why she was called to Ashton's office but was certainly surprised to see him sitting on his desk, without a scowl for the first time in his life and Grace stood at a distance from it. She did not realize the breath she was holding in anticipation wondering what she had done wrong to be called to his office, that too in Grace's presence. She hadn't let any extra people on the floor lately. She had responded to all the incoming calls at her desk as per their requirements.
