Chapter 75

Samantha stared at me with wide eyes. Anger, sadness, and shock all fashed before me. The words just came out of my mouth. On one hand, I was proud of myself for standing up for what I felt was right. On the other hand, I did regret not doing exactly as she said. Maybe I should have called her. Either way, as I stared into her eyes, I knew I would be taking her there so she could say her goodbyes.

Suddenly, Samantha just ran from the room. Just bolted out of the office. Jameson wasn’t quick enough to catch her. He made it to the door before he stopped and looked back at us. His eyes were begging to be allowed to leave.

“Go.” I said with a sigh. He didn’t question it as he ran from the room. Everyone was quiet. Sitting down in my chair, I just replayed the whole conversation.

“For what it’s worth, I believe you handled that the way you should have.” Wade said. Looking up, he was looking straight at me.
