CHAPTER SEVENTY-TWO:  Doubtful Support 

Suspicion threaded Scott's mind as he stared at the handcuffed man. Only when Jayden bumped into his leg and held on to him did he come back to his senses. He looked down to see the little boy staring up at him with teary eyes.

Without hesitation, Scott picked Jayden up and rubbed his back. The toddler immediately reported, "Please help my mommy. That bad guy is saying nonsense. Tell them to remove that big buckle from my mommy's hands."

Following Jayden's pointed finger, Scott's eyes fell on the handcuff around Zara's wrists. He strode over to the closest policeman. "Why the hell is she in handcuffs?"

"Who are you?" The cop eyed Scott from head to toe and then put one hand on his hip. "Anyway, that doesn't matter. She's a suspect in the attempt on Cora Anderson's life, so she has to be in handcuffs!"

Scott tut-tutted, "Keyword 'suspect'. What happened to being innocent until proven guilty? She wasn't caught red-handed, neither has she been convicted. She shouldn't be in handcuffs!"
