Several weeks had passed since I sent Ophelia into hiding. I was confident that she was in a good place and no harm would come to her.

I had Jax call the pilot and get the plane ready. I packed a suitcase with enough clothes for the week, then we left the compound and flew to New York City. Later in the day, Noah and Oliver would fly down to New York also for the reopening of Jonol. The renovations were complete, and Liam planned to have a huge reopening party. I was looking forward to spending some time in New York. The house had been so quiet without Ophelia; it reminded me of when she got kidnapped, and that was not something I enjoyed being reminded of. I needed to get out of the house for a while, so I went to handle some business at the office.
