Chapter 20: Mountain of Work

As the day wore on, Tristan found more and more reasons to involve Samantha in his work. He called her into his office multiple times, each time under the pretense of some urgent task.

"Can you come in here again, please?"

Samantha looked up from her desk, a look of surprise on her face. She had been working non-stop all morning, trying to keep up with the tasks Tristan had been giving her.

"Sure." she put down the telephone and standing up from her desk. She walked into Tristan's office, She knew what Tristan was doing, knew he was trying to make her jealous. And it was working, though she wasn't going to say that out loud.

As she entered the office, she saw Viviana sitting across from Tristan. She watched as Tristan and Viviana shared a laugh, their closeness making her heart ache.

"Ah, Samantha," Tristan said, his voice filled with amusement.

"I need you to prepare a report for the meeting later."
