A bad idea

DOMINICK'S POV~

I gradually pulled away from her, taking a step back as I observed her features. Her once vibrant, green eyes that had captivated me during our first encounter now seemed dull, and I noticed that my words had struck a nerve. My chest tightened at the sight, and I despised the feeling—I hadn't experienced anything like it in a long time, and I refused to feel guilty.

I meant what I said, and I didn't care if it made me an asshole. Since when had I ever cared about anyone?

Why the fuck was she playing innocent too?

Ignoring the turmoil in my heart, I pointed at the large table and watched as her eyes continued to redden. "Let's begin with the first steps. Tomorrow, you'll start classes, and these are the files you'll need to sign since you have no guardian to do it for you. The terms are also outlined here. You'll need to maintain high grades and pass the tests set by the school. If you succeed in our evaluations and exams, you'll graduate and be granted custody of your sister. That's the deal. Now, tell me, what better offer can match this?" I asked, tilting my head.

She pressed her lips into a thin line but remained silent.

However, my sharp eyes noticed how she repeatedly clenched and unclenched her fists. "Is there a problem, Miss Leila? Go ahead and speak," I urged, wanting to hear her voice. Something told me she had more to say than she let on.

"Can I pay monthly visits to my sister?" she asked, her teary eyes meeting mine, causing that unfamiliar clenching sensation in my chest once again, which I hated.

I hardened my expression, throwing her an unbothered look. "That depends on whether you pass my tests. You'll be allowed to see her monthly, for now. Could you sign? I need some rest," I said, turning to walk back to the table. I retrieved a pen from the drawer and placed it on the surface for her to take.

Like a predator observing its prey, I watched as she hesitantly made her way to the table and picked up the pen. My wolf stirred yet again, despite my attempts to calm him. He was drawn to her scent, and it irritated me.

Long brown hair, pale innocent face and eyes that attract me like a moth to a fire. I had no idea why a young girl like her would look like she was already tired of living and I wanted to know, despite how much it was none of my fucking concern!

The deal would be simple! Get her under my school, have them check if she's the right girl, use her abilities and then let her go once I was done getting what I wanted. I don't give a fuck to what happens to her afterwards.Time was no longer on my side and I needed this plan to work more than ever.

I know I should be thinking about these plans but I couldn't help my eyes which had begun to trail across her body. She looked very curvy but the flair skirt seemed to hide those deadly curves and had perfect set of tits that her blouse must be hiding..

Fuck! I shouldn't be doing this right now but I couldn't help it. She bent, scribbling her signature and the more she spent longer time on my desk, the more her scent wafted into my nostrils and I wanted nothing but to pull her to my desk, and have her trapped there, inhale her scent, have my hands wrapped around her throat as I licked her skin. I gulped heavily, and hastily stood, storming to the window to draw in some fresh air to calm my nerves.

Shit! It was her fucking fault. Leila had interrupted me before I could fucking release my cum.

“I'm done." Her sweet soft voice came yet again, making my eyes snap open. A growl erupted from my throat as I spun to glare at her.

She stiffened, as she licked her pull pink lips and it made me even more miserable. I didn't want to hear her speaking. Not right now!

Not when I wanted nothing but for her to go down on her knees right now, taking my cock while I praised her for being my good girl, my hands wrapped around her hair which I was sure was soft just like her skin, while she moaned. Or perhaps pressed against my desk, naked, while she screamed only my name.

We stare down at each other, no one saying a word. A dark tension was brewing between us but all I could smell from her was fear!

Very good!

She needed to be scared. After all, I was nothing but a monster. A monster everyone should dread. A monster who wouldn't gobble down an innocent girl like her and taint her. And that would be if only she hadn't been completely tainted.

Fuck! Enough! She's going to be your student!

Before I could speak again, the sound of footsteps echoed, and I inhaled deeply, recognizing my Beta's scent. I calmly took my seat as he approached.

"Once you're finished, get some rest, Leila. Welcome to your new school," I said.

She remained silent, turning her attention to Matteo, who regarded her with an impassive expression. She quickly excused herself and walked away. I frowned as I noticed her bare feet.

"She wears nothing on her feet," I observed, drawing a raised brow from Matteo.

"The nurses said she had slipped away to meet you," Matteo replied, to which I hummed in response.

I dismissed him with a wave and poured myself a glass of liquor from the bottle on my table.

"She's here," Matteo announced, prompting me to look up.

A shadow crossed my face before I gestured for Matteo to bring the person in.

"I swear this is a very bad idea," Alessia declared as her voice cut through the air, her frustration evident. Meanwhile, a blonde woman silently continued to unbutton my shirt as I sat on the expansive sofa in my office.

"Dominick, do you know what you're doing? Why did you bring the girl here? You're leading the council members to us—to your true identity! What if they find out what you really are? All the lies, the undercover work, the money we've invested into this—it will all be for nothing!"

Despite her frantic protests, I maintained my composure, my gaze fixed on the large mirror before me. My calm demeanor stood in stark contrast to Alessia's distress.

In the dim light of my office, I now sat bare-chested in front of the mirror, tracing the raised, jagged line that marred my torso.

The scar was a gruesome souvenir of a time when life had almost slipped through my fingers. It began just below my Adam's apple, an angry, purple gash that twisted its way down my chest, across my ribs, and finally ended near my navel. The skin around it was puckered, like a valley of flesh surrounded by the hills of my otherwise smooth skin.

Memories flooded my mind as I examined it—the cold steel, the sharp pain, the scent of blood. It had been years since that fateful day, but the scar remained, a permanent reminder of how deadly my revenge would be.

Alessia's worried gaze remained locked on me as she stood beside Matteo, who quietly listened to the conversation, his fingers resting thoughtfully on his lips.

"The girl stays, and that's why you're here," I stated coldly, causing her to halt her pacing.

"You'll be her guardian and monitor her. She's the only witch we can use to track this down and move forward. Unless you have another plan?" I questioned, my breath catching as Charlotte, the blonde woman, placed a kiss on my chest, close to the scar. My expression darkened.

"Jeez, Charlotte! Can you do this after we're done?" Alessia snapped at her before taking a seat next to Matteo.

Charlotte giggled, throwing me a flirtatious smile as she traced lacy patterns on my chest. She then moved away to retrieve the concealer and began to apply it to my neck, hiding the scars as she always did before my public appearances. Only these three individuals knew the truth about me.

"Braxton is alive. The hospital where he was transferred says he has started breathing again, unlike in the previous days. The girl is fortunate she didn't kill him," Matteo informed us. Alessia let out a derisive scoff.

"So this girl is the serial killer, and you're handing her over to me? There's no way I'm taking in a witch!" Alessia snarled. I shot her a dark look, signaling her to be quiet.

"What's your problem with the girl, Alessia? Let it be. Dominick knows what's right, and you don't get to dictate things here," Charlotte said, giving Alessia a mocking look. Alessia retaliated with a furious glare.

The tension between the women was palpable, as if they were on the verge of a vicious argument. If I weren't present, I was certain they would have shifted into their wolf forms and torn each other apart.

"If you want me to discard her quickly, then give me the best results, Alessia. The girl isn't aware that we're testing her. Once she matches the blood, I'll get rid of her as you wish. So, you better speed things up by taking her in and keeping your mouth shut," I growled. Charlotte snickered at Alessia, who quickly gulped and pressed her lips together in silence.

The room turned silent as Matteo's phone began to beep, capturing our attention. We watched as his shoulders tensed, his face displaying a look that suggested the news wasn't good.

"What's wrong?" Alessia whispered, trying to peek at his phone.

Matteo glanced at me before heaving a deep sigh. "Alpha, I think the council members are here."

Alessia's expression paled.
