" I got married due to some reasons but my fiance eloped at the last minute so I had to get married to her younger sister. Is that a valid reason, I don't want her as my wife." He explained bitterly and I felt so humiliated by the way he described everything.

" Did her family keep you in the dark and replace the bride without your and your family's consent? If yes, then your wedding can be declared null and void. " the lawyer said.

" No, they did inform us, and my mom and I knew about it." He said tears were brimming in my eyes, but I was determined not to shed one single tear.

" Then I am sorry, the marriage is valid and you need to wait for 6 months to file a divorce. Under the Hindu Marriage Act, obtaining a divorce within the first six months is not feasible," the lawyer interjected, his voice tinged with solemnity. "Moreover, there must be valid grounds for such a petition... And in this case, it's not there." He replied.
