“Roman?” A quiet voice asked.Roman turned his head to see Celine watching him with a puzzled expression on her face.“Hmm?” He answered her.“Do you hate me?”“Hate you? Why would I hate you?”She shrugged softly, “Because you were mad at me. You were angry at me because I kept telling you to find someone else to spend your summer vacation with.”He chuckled lightly, “I understand why you told me to do that. I mean, look at you. You’re beautiful. You are obviously perfect for everyone who sees you. And that’s not including me, of course.” He paused, taking a moment to gaze at her. “So, I forgive you.”“Thank you,” she whispered quietly, looking down at her lap.“You know what? Maybe, I am mad at you,” he replied, frowning slightly, “but only because you kept saying that it was impossible for us to have a relationship because of our history and that’s not true. We could just try again, you know.”“But what if I say no again? What will you do then? Will you give up on me? Are you willi
“I’m sorry,” Celine muttered in a soft voice, “I shouldn’t have done that. This is all my fault.”Roman looked down at her, confused.“No! It isn’t your fault,” he insisted.“I should have known better. The second we kissed, I got carried away. And now I messed things up…” she trailed off, unable to meet his gaze.“This isn’t your fault.”“That may be true, but I still feel like it is. I’ve ruined it.”“No, you haven’t. Stop making excuses. I love you. No one else has to know.”Celine frowned, “I don’t know…”“Why not?” Roman urged.Celine looked at him sheepishly before lowering her head, “Because I feel like people will expect me to leave you for somebody else. I don’t want to leave you. I want you to stay with me forever. That’s not fair to either of us. We both deserve happiness.”“Oh, Celine…” He murmured, reaching forward and placing his free hand on her cheek. He leant forward slowly and pressed his lips against hers in a tender kiss, letting the emotions within him pour out th
“What the hell are you talking about? Of course we’re going to be happy with the baby.”Celine glared angrily at Roman, “Really? Have you seen her? She looks like she’ll die in her next month.”Roman clenched his teeth, clenching his fists tightly as he gritted his teeth in anger, “Shut up, Celine, you’re being ridiculous. There’s nothing wrong with Estelle and I’ve never been happier with anyone else than I am with her,” he stated. “And besides, you’re exaggerating. Estelle is going to be great with the little ones. She has done so well in the past. And I know that we have to take good care of the kid because we love her.""I won’t let myself and you be selfish and keep her to ourselves while you’re busy trying to find a way to avoid the fact that your father will find out about this.”Celine sighed deeply, running her fingers through her hair in frustration. “I guess you’re right. I’m sorry. I just…” she trailed off, shaking her head.“Do you want to tell me what happened?” Roman
“Okay, so then we have two options. One We don’t tell him, obviously. He needs to realise on his own what’s happening before he finds out from someone else. Two, we tell him, but try to act normal around him and keep the secret. It’s the best option for everybody involved.”“So you choose first?” she said, tilting her head to the side as a slight smile appeared on her lips. “Or you decide for me?”He smiled softly, nodding his head, looking at her. “I’m choosing for you, Celine. I can’t have any secrets between us. Do you hear me?”She smirked and laughed lightly, raising her eyebrows. “Are you trying to scare me?”“Am I succeeding?” he asked challengingly.“Oh, definitely.”He shrugged his shoulders and grinned playfully, looking away. He took a step closer to her and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his chest and burying his face in her neck. “We’ll have to talk to your mum and father tomorrow about our decision. For now, however, we should both try to get some
“So…” she started hesitantly, her voice barely audible.“Hmm…” he hummed in agreement, not daring to look at her.“Do you think your family will be angry?”He let out a quiet snort. “They’re not the kind of people to be angry about these kinds of things. They understand that sometimes people do stupid stuff to make them happy, and that sometimes they need a little push in order to make themselves realize how wrong they are. Besides, they know I’m in love with you. I doubt they’ll really be mad at me for falling for you.”Celine smiled slightly, shaking her head slightly. “But does it bother you? Being in love with me? Do you… feel uncomfortable?”“No,” he replied simply. “Not in the slightest. I know how important it is to you, so it doesn’t bother me. I just wish that you didn’t have to deal with my family constantly telling you what to do. They always seem to expect the worst from me, whereas I do everything for you.”“That’s because they don’t know you,” she replied, turning her
“Thank you,” she whispered, smiling shyly.“Anything for you,” he whispered back, cupping her face softly with his hands and pulling her towards him once more. She melted into his arms, placing her hands behind his neck and leaning forward to place a soft kiss on his lips, causing him to pull her closer to deepen it a little bit. They kissed until they were both gasping for air, their breath mingling with each other’s. Eventually, Roman reluctantly released her, resting his forehead against hers. She let out a shaky sigh. “Now that’s a start. Now, please, tell me you plan to keep doing that.”Roman chuckled quietly. “Of course I do. It’s my job, remember?”A wide grin spread across her face, causing Roman to chuckle some more and wrap his arms around her waist. “You are ridiculous. You are the most frustrating man I know. And don’t think I haven’t noticed. You’re trying to distract me from worrying.”“Oh no! So I’m not the only man who thinks that I’m handsome?” he questioned sarcas
Roman nodded quickly, standing up and walking swiftly towards the kitchen. He rummaged around inside the medicine cabinet for a bit, searching through the various bottles until he managed to find a bottle which he immediately popped open and handed to her. She took it gingerly and swallowed down two capsules. She glanced up at him and smiled gratefully. “Thanks.”“You’re welcome. How are you feeling anyway? Are you really alright?”She nodded. “Yeah. I’m fine. A little dizzy, maybe. But I’ll manage. It’s just exhaustion.”He frowned slightly. “But you just said that it’s been three weeks. What happened? Have you not slept for three weeks now?”“I told you, Roman. My body is just adjusting to everything that happened. That’s all. Don’t worry about it. Please, stop asking questions. You’re making me uncomfortable.”Roman sighed and sat back down on the couch, taking her hand into his again. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have asked so many questions.”“No, no, you’re fine. Just please stop
The next morning, when Celine awoke, Roman was lying on the couch, facing her, sound asleep. His arm was slung over the top of her torso and he was snoring gently into her shoulder. He looked peaceful as his eyebrows were relaxed and his mouth hung slightly open. For a split second, he looked younger and less exhausted than he usually did. His hair was disheveled, sticking out at odd angles and there was an obvious flush on his face due to the heat radiating from the heater. Her heart fluttered in her chest at the sight. He looked so adorable and it gave her butterflies to see him looking so tired and worn out. She reached up with her hands to push some of his messy curls away from his forehead before running her fingers lightly over his temples, pushing them downwards gently as she did so. His eyes fluttered for a moment and she thought he was about to wake up, but instead, he nuzzled into her hand, sighing contently as he continued to drift further and further towards slumber.A
