Chapter 85 – Layer After Layer

(Aya’s POV)

The worst thing about being in this state of feeling, I wanted to see and be with Red all the time, but I only saw him when I offered to bring his coffee and the cake I baked for him. He was on a video conference when I came in, so Cora had to take the tray from me and place it on the coffee table near the couch. My plan of seducing him didn’t happen.

Being in love sucked!

I usually took my semestral break as a chance for me to get more part-time jobs, but since the day I became a Mrs. Carlington, I focused on my full-time job.

A mother.

A wife.

The wife part was another work in progress because Red had to go on a business trip last week, and the honeymoon came in later.

I heaved a sigh as I walked the long hallway, thinking of Ariana, whom I had not seen much. It was quite different when she was not around, and I hate to admit that even if she constantly bugged me about my wardrobe, I missed her company.

“Aya!” Leslie waved her hand, smiling excitedly as if we had not see
