Chapter 84 – Stop Overthinking, Aya

(Aya’s POV)

One moment, I was in pure bliss, only to feel anxious the next. If I were to ask, I wished I could go and beg my father in person to come home. At the time he decided to leave and go to St. Agatha, I was distracted, a mistake on my part. Without Addie and me closely monitoring him, he tended to forget his maintenance meds and do things he shouldn’t be doing anymore.

Without the kids at home, I had to do something to divert my mind to stop overthinking. Baking was my only solution at the moment.

“Is everything okay?” Addie asked when she found me in the kitchen.

“Yeah,” I smiled, glancing at her and returning my attention to spreading another thin layer of batter into the baking pan.

“Then something is wrong,” she muttered as she pulled the chair and sat across from me, watching me as I focused on perfecting the layer of batter in the pan.

I scoffed, lifting one corner of my mouth and shaking my head as I placed the baking pan inside the oven.
