"Sophia has been in her room the whole time. How could she have poisoned you?" Grace sneered. "She may not be as smart as you, but you don't have to be so malicious in suspecting her."

Emily suddenly smiled. "In that case, why don't you try a bite? Do you dare?"

Grace's hand holding the bowl trembled slightly.

"You don't dare either, do you?" Emily walked to the door and made a "please" gesture. "Go wash the dishes. I'm going to sleep."

Grace stared at her for a few seconds, then turned and left.

Emily closed the door behind her and locked it, then pushed the desk against the door to ensure her safety.

Her phone beeped twice with an incoming text message.

She opened it.

[Nonsense! That black truffle was airlifted from France, top quality! You're such a country bumpkin!]

The message was from Sophia, who lived in the room next to hers.
