Chapter 59: Confessions in the Dark

Even after our breaths returned to normal, we stayed in the same position. His body remained warm against my back, and he was still inside me. I tried to avoid the thought that it could stay like this forever, but I couldn't. It scared me, but I pushed the feeling away.

His fingers brushed away some strands of hair that were falling on my face before he finally pulled out of me. Settling on the bed, he simply pulled me closer to his body. I rested my head on his chest.

I could feel his heart beating rapidly against his rib cage. I took deep breaths, several times until I calmed down and managed to push away the strange feeling of anguish.

"You're forgiven for being an idiot," I finally said, feeling more relaxed. I couldn't see his face, but I knew he was smiling.

"That was easier than I thought. But I still plan on apologizing for the rest of the night."
