Eric's POV

Captivated by her enchanting eyes, I could not bring myself to break our eye contact.

I was not surprised that she had gone ahead to work with Joanne despite my warnings.

As a matter of fact, I was expecting her to do that.

It still irked me that Joanne was back in our lives, but I decided to let Emily do her thing.

I was still trying to get her to see that I had changed, and it would not be helpful if I kept trying to 'hinder her progress'.

Within the little time I had spent with her, we had argued a lot, but what she did not know was that I was learning more about her day by day.

That was how I knew that one way to get through to her was to not engage her in yelling sprees, but rather to speak softly to her as it had a way of calming her down.
