It was 2 AM in the morning, and she was wide awake, staring at the ceiling of the bedroom. The worries of her father finding out about her marriage were not letting her sleep. Her mind was racing, trying to come up with excuses for not attending the party. Her body tensed as she felt Ivan's grip tighten around her waist.

She knew Ivan would take her to the party no matter what, and there would be media. It wasn't that her father would judge her; he had never been judgmental about her. He would never think or say anything bad about her after learning about her marriage to Ivan. He would understand her, but she still feared his reaction. Many people had suggested to her father not to send his daughter to New York City for her studies and instead get her married to a man. However, her father always dismissed their suggestions, saying, "My daughter isn't like all other girls... She is my pride, my respect, and she will never do anything that would dishearten me."
