Chapter eighteen

Emily's POV

"Oh I'm so sorry" I apologize immediately and I bend down to pick them up knowing it's my fault but the stranger beats me to it and I look up to find a familiar pair of pale blue eyes staring at me with a smile on his face as he hands my books back to me.

I know I've seen this face before but I don't know where.

Oh yeah, it's the same guy who was staring at me yesterday at the Cafe.

"T-thank you" I manage to say as I tuck a few loose strands of hair behind my ear, holding my books tightly against my chest with one hand.

"Are you okay?" He asks with concern and I nod my head in agreement.

"Okay..." He pauses before adding,"Are you new here?" He asks.

"Yeah" I nod.

"Oh okay. I'm Jace by the way" He says smiling with both of his hands folded inside his pocket.

"Nice to meet you Jace" I return the friendly gesture.

"Yeah, I... Uhm..." he swallows, fumbling with words.

"Can we... Uhm... I mean...." He doesn't get to finish whatever he wants to say as I hear my phone beeping in
