The Death

Evelyn’s resentful eyes shifted towards the man beside her. His concentration stayed on the laptop screen in front of him.

“Say what you have to instead of looking like that. Unfortunately, I don’t have the ability to read your mind,” he pointed out.

She scoffed.

However, she soon changed her expression to a solemn one and brought up, “I want to visit Grandpa’s grave first.”

This made Landon’s eyes fall on her— a mixture of complex emotions swirling in them— and he nodded his head.

After that, she leaned her head against the window and watched the road they sped against. It didn’t take them long to arrive at the cemetery. Evelyn pulled open the door and stepped outside without waiting for Landon to get down.

She then made her way over to Grandpa Parker’s grave. The grave appeared to be regularly cleaned. She extended her hand and stroked the surface his name was imprinted on.
