I gave a triumphant smirk. “Not as sneaky as you think you are.”

“Oh, no?” He sauntered toward me in a little dance. Sliding his leg along the outside of mine as he began easing my skirt up with a warm palm.

It was dizzying. Hypnotic how he could seem so cold and calculated at work then all smiles and play here.

Making me laugh.

I shook myself. “Your steaks are burning.”

He clacked his wine glass to the counter and twisted to see.

“Ah, c’mon!” He laughed in frustration. “That’s bullshit!”

I laughingly ducked into the bedroom to change from my work clothes, knowing dinner was about done. I wiggled out of my skirt and suit jacket. Unraveling my nylons as I heard plates clattering and knew he was dishing us up.

“If you’re hiding from me,” He called in a sing song voice. “you’re hiding in the wrong place…”
