“I'm sorry, Kon.” Lin walked closer to a struggling Kon. “Trust me, I never wanted to do this. But you left me with no choice.” He stopped in front of Kon.

“Why are you doing this, Lin?” Kon furrowed his brows at Lin.

“Why I'm doing all this?” Lin laughed. “Haven't it always been obvious? I'm doing this because I love you, Kon.” He touched Kon's cheeks. “I've always loved you, Kon. I can't think of a time when I never loved you.”

“No, that's not true.” Kon shook his head. “You are my best friend, Lin.”

“But not to me.” Kon sighed. “I only pretended to be your best friend so I can keep staying next to you.”

Kon sighed. “Ok, let's leave that out. How did you end up here? I thought we came to see your parents?” Kon tried to use that, to check if Lin might let him go.

“Parents?” Lin scoffed. “I have no parents, Kon. The woman, I lived with, was the caregiver my uncle brought to look after me.”

“But…” Kon blinked. "You called her 'mother”
