Chapter Thirty Three

CHARITY POV

I unlock the door to my home, the place dark and quiet as my parents sleep upstairs. I inhale, craving the comforting smells of familiarity. Goddess, how I’ve missed it, even my overbearing mother. My feet carry me through the house, seeing all the changes she has made to the decor. Her tastes are elegant and distinguished. Proper, with the white walls, and simple additions that add a pop of color the space needs.

The startling contrasts between our style is noticeable. We are similar and opposites in every way. Two sides of the same coin. Family pictures line the walls in the hall, the three of us in a coordinating outfit, looking so pristine. Too bad these pictures don’t show the massive fight we had earlier that morning. It was a doozy too, and I can’t even remember what it was about, probably something stupid, and not even worth the screaming match.
