CH 48: The Past

Lizzy’s POV

The maid opened the door and let me in. I saw Becky standing facing the large window that overlooked the garden on the back terrace. When she saw me, she smiled and walked toward me. Unexpectedly, she hugged me and stroked my back.

“Thank you for coming here, even though you had an unpleasant experience. I didn’t know what their plan was. And that’s what I want to talk to you about right now. Let’s sit down,” she invited. She took me by the hand and invited me to sit on a sofa close to her desk.

Her workroom looked very cozy. A large bookcase was behind the desk. There was a large television in the room’s corner, and near to it was a shelf filled with bottles of wine. Becky has made this room a well-appointed space. Everyone who enters here will feel at home. The beautiful view outside added to the value of this workspace.
