TWENTY EIGHT – THE ENCHANTER

When I come out of the room two hours later, Devon is still seated right where I left him.

With his back to me, he says;

“Finally convinced your little girlfriend to stay for the one thousandth time?”

I ignore the jab in his words and take a seat behind my table.

“Watch your mouth, Devon. I’m still older.”

After a moment of silence, silly smiles break out on our faces.

I had already explained Devon’s involvement in all of this to Mira. Devon and I had finally reached middle ground after Dutch fell seriously ill while Mira had run away to Las Vegas.

Despite our little tiff, we shared one common bond. Our love for Dorchester.

Dutch did not want to stay in Hawaii anymore so the plan was to bring him to New York where he and his nanny will move into the penthouse with Mira and I.

Just as I expected, she was so happy. Fucking ecstatic. She missed him just as much as he missed her.
