FORTY SIX

LIAM’S POV:

I was just coming out of the boardroom after an intense meeting with the board of directors on some issues concerning the company when my phone rang.

I sighed exhaustively as I pulled out my phone from my pocket.

I checked the caller and it turned out to be Anita.

I raised a questioning brow at my phone as to why Anita was suddenly calling out of the blue. She doesn't call unnecessarily unless there was a serious matter that needed my attention.

“Has something happened to Mia while I was away?” I questioned myself as I hurriedly connected the call before it disconnected.

“Anita, what's wrong?”I asked as soon as I connected the call.

“Sir, a strange man barged into the house after pushing Miss Mia out of the way,” she replied.

I gazed into space for a while as I thought about who the strange man might be.

“Do you know the identity of the man?” I asked as I walked into my office and shut the door.

“I overheard him telling Miss Mia that he was Charles Roberts,” Anita replied.
