Chapter 4

Our laughter turned into fear as we realized we were surrounded and in danger.

Hottie stepped in front of me, wanting to shield me but he didn’t know I’m an Alpha’s daughter, trained for battle. “Just passing through, we mean no harm,” he slurred.

The attackers didn’t want to reason, instead, they closed in on us, snarling and baring their teeth.

We knew we were outnumbered but we were determined to leave the attack alive. The wolves let out a fierce howl, signaling the commencement of their attack.

They charged forward but hottie and I were ready.

“Don’t kill them, just make them unconscious. We don’t want problems in another territory” I said to him in a low voice before elongating my claws not wanting to ruin my clothes by turning completely.

I lunged forward with my claws extended and sliced through the skin of the first werewolf to reach me accompanied by some blows.

Due to my swift movements and multiple injuries sustained, the wolf let out a gurgling cry as it fell to the ground.

I looked over to hottie and his skills were amazing. Hottie was not far behind with his teeth bared as he took on multiple wolves at once.

The fight was brutal and fierce as blood and fur flew through the air as the fight continued. Hottie and I fought as a team, taking down one werewolf after another in sync.

Finally, as the werewolves retreated after sustaining injuries, hottie and I stood victorious although we were covered in cuts and bruises.

I had fast healingdue to the Alpha blood in me, so my injuries healed on the spot but hottie didn’t.

His wounds were many and they were looking purple-ish so he wasn’t healing as fast. I immediately ran to meet him and supported him as we walked away from the bloody scene in search of a hotel.

After minutes of walking through the dark night, we found a hotel and booked a room.

He wriggled in pain as he ascended the stairs leading to the room. The wolves had used wolfsbane on him and it slowed his healing. We got into the room and I helped him sit.

After making him comfortable, I asked him to try and take a shower while I rushed back to the lady at the reception and requested some ointments and drugs alongside fresh clothes.

Being our kind, she didn’t hesitate to give them to me. I collected them and rushed back to meet Hottie. Although his wounds had not healed completely, they were closing. I went to him and crouched down to clean his wounds before adding the ointment.

He often hissed in pain as the ointment burned his skin but he took it all in. After dressing his wounds, I felt my heart ache as the alcohol in my system had worn off completely due to the fight. I went to take a bath to wash off the blood on my body.

I entered the bathroom and hung my towel, turning on the shower. The warmth from the hot water I used helped to calm my nerves and my whole self. I stood under the hot shower with my eyes closed as I tried to shove back all the pain I felt this past hour and focus on the future.

I let my tears flow freely under the shower without hesitation. The water cascaded down my face, mixing with the tears that flowed freely from my eyes. I let out a soft sob as my body shook from the weight of the heartbreak I felt.

I continued like this as I pondered on my past moments with Brandon. I let out a soft wail, my voice echoing off the tiles. It was all so confusing to me. It was a mystery I didn’t want to solve. I had to cry it out.

I stood there for what seemed like hours, lost in grief, but eventually, the water began to run cold. My tears stopped as I became aware of my location and the guy I left in the room.

“Time, that’s what you need Rose. I know it’s a difficult and long journey but you will get through it. You just need time to heal, grieve and find a way to move on.” I said to myself repeatedly as I turned off the shower and wrapped my towel on my body as I stepped out of the bathroom.

A bottle of alcohol sitting on the table was the first sight my eyes welcomed after getting out. “I thought you might need a drink, so I ordered a bottle.” Hottie said while following my gaze.

I wondered whether he heard my cries in the bathroom but I shook it off. I smiled at him mouthing, “thanks.”

Then I grabbed the new set of clothes and went to change.

Hottie handed me a glass of the drink and I sat down beside him and drank it. It was stronger than the drink I had at the bar earlier and it was exactly what I needed.

We took glass after glass till we were both wasted. Seeing me in my drunk state, Eve decided to take advantage of my situation.

HOTTIE’S POV

I looked over at the drunk hazel-eyed lady beside me and I noticed her eye color changed. Her hazel-colored eyes changed to green with a ring of shimmers. I immediately knew her wolf had taken over due to her drunken state. I was also drunk but I was able to keep my wolf at bay.

“Ummmm, Hazel, I think you should sleep,” I said wanting her wolf to retreat. She turned her head sideways and looked at me with a devilish smile. She dropped her glass and moved closer to me, her green eyes boring into mine in search of something.

In a split second, her lips crashed into mine as she kissed me with her soft moist lips. I tried to use my strength to push her away but my wolf was against my decision and forcefully took over my consciousness instead.
