Around one o'clock in the afternoon, Jake decided to finally take Claire out on a real date. They both took their bikes outside to go riding around town. The rest of the week went by quickly. The only noticeable changes were the small signs of weariness that appeared in Claire every time she got out of bed or when she sat down for breakfast. He observed the slight flush that appeared beneath her pale skin and noticed just how much healthier she looked.
