Chapter 4

As Nathan prepared to leave for the war, I found myself unable to hold back the tears. I tried to put on a brave face in front of him and Mrs Natalie, but as soon as they left, I retreated to my room and let the tears flow freely.

I cried until I couldn't cry anymore, until my eyes were red and swollen. It was then that Nathan walked in, his expression soft and gentle as he saw me crying. Without a word, he sat beside me on the bed and pulled me into his embrace.

I buried my face in his chest, unable to speak through my sobs. Nathan held me tightly, rubbing soothing circles on my back. "It's okay, Anita," he whispered. "Let it all out. Cry as much as you need to."

As I cried, I felt Nathan's hand move to my chin, gently lifting my face up to look into his eyes. "All I want from you now is to be strong," he said. "I don't want to see you suffer or cry like this. You have the heart of a lion, Anita. I know you do. You just need to believe in yourself."

His words brought some comfort to my heart, but the fear and uncertainty still lingered. "But what if something happens to you?" I whispered, my voice barely audible.

Nathan's expression softened as he wiped away my tears. "I won't let anything happen to me, Anita. I have said this countless times, I'll be strong for you and for us. And if the worst does happen, I'll make sure that you and our pack are taken care of. I'll always be with you in spirit, even if I'm not physically here."

As he spoke, I felt a deep sense of love and admiration for him. I knew that he was doing what he had to do, and that he was putting the needs of the pack above his own. At that moment, I knew that I had to be strong for him too.

With a newfound resolve, I looked up at Nathan and kissed him deeply, pouring all of my love and emotion into the moment. We made love, holding each other tightly as we whispered words of love and reassurance.

As the night drew to a close, Nathan held me in his arms once more, whispering promises of his safe return. I knew that the road ahead would be difficult, but I had Nathan's love to guide me through it. With his strength and my courage, we would overcome any obstacle that came our way.

As I woke up the next morning, I reached for Nathan beside me, but found only an empty space. Panic rose within me as I searched around the room, hoping to catch a glimpse of him. But he was nowhere to be found.

My heart sank as I noticed a note lying on the pillow next to me. It was from Nathan. Tears streamed down my face as I read his words, telling me that he had left for the war. My mind raced as I tried to process the reality of the situation. Nathan was gone, and I didn't know when or if he would ever return.

As I cried, Mrs Natalie came into the room, her expression one of concern. She sat beside me on the bed, taking my hand in hers. "Anita, my dear," she said softly. "I know this is hard for you. But you have to remember the love that Nathan has for you. He wouldn't have left if he didn't think it was necessary for the pack."

I looked at her, my eyes red and swollen. "But what if he doesn't come back?" I whispered.

Mrs Natalie placed a hand on my cheek, wiping away my tears. "Anita, you have to be strong, patient, and prayerful. Victory awaits us, and we have to believe in our strength and in Nathan's. He loves you more than anything in this world, and he'll do everything in his power to come back to you."

Her words brought some comfort to my heart, and I knew that I had to be strong for Nathan's sake. I had to trust in his strength and in the love that we shared. With Mrs Natalie's guidance, I prayed for Nathan's safe return, and for the strength to overcome any obstacle that came our way.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months. The war raged on, and each passing day felt like an eternity without Nathan by my side. But I held on to Mrs Natalie's words, and to the love that Nathan and I shared. I remained patient, strong, and prayerful, trusting in the promise of victory.

I sat at the backyard of the house, praying to the stars to keep Nathan safe, Mrs Natalie came to my side with a seat.

"I have got information from the war."

She could see the excitement for my look, I could not wait to hear what she had to say about it. "The war messenger brought great news to the pack that our warriors are doing great, with no life lost, and for the look of things we are going to be victorious with no life lost." I felt a bit of relief from her words. I was so happy and excited that my Nathan would be back very soon. I thanked the stars and his Chie for keeping him for me.

"You see! You don't have to be worried anymore, we will be celebrating soon." She said to me with joy. I was happy with the good news she had brought to me, but I still had the negative feeling right in my heart.

As a blood fang wolf, I have the ability to sense future danger. But since the news appears to be real, I have to remain positive. Maybe the gods of my ancestors changed the further for me and my Nathan.

After long months of waiting, I finally received news that Nathan was coming back from the war. My heart leaped with joy and excitement, and I immediately went to the gathering ground where all members of our pack were going to welcome our warrior family.

I knew that some of my kind were hated around, but I couldn't care less. After all, my savior was back. As I approached the gathering ground, I could see Nathan leading the entire group of warriors. My heart swelled with pride and love for him.
