He inquires, “Are you still thinking about your grandmother? She’ll be fine. You don’t need to think too hard, darling.”

“I’m not sure if she’s my grandmother because I’ve never heard anything about her. My mother never mentions her relatives till she dies.”

“We will know when she wakes up,” he tells me. “We have to get some sleep now, honey.” He encircles me with his hand. He is doing all he can to make me happy. Even while I’m in bed with my mate, I can’t stop thinking about the elderly woman. What if she is, in fact, my grandmother? What happens between her and my mother? Why are they separated?
