I’m not surprised, since I know she will be here to create issues after I murdered her partner.

I am amused by her folly. I’m doing my best not to get angry since I don’t want to murder her in front of my mate. After all, she just accepts me, and I don’t want her to think of me as unkind.

“Who exactly are you?” My mate inquires. This is her first encounter with her. “Why are you rejecting me?” I remain at her side, softly stroking her hand. “I’ve got this. Mateo, all you have to do is keep out of it. I must prove my worth.”

“Okay. Do whatever you want,” I mutter. “I will be there to support you.”

“I am Kate, the female pack healer,” she introduces herself.

“Why are you rejecting me, Kate?” She inquires once again. “I have no problem with you. I have no idea who you are,” Kate yells at her. She humiliates her in front of everyone.

“All of you, I curse you. You’ll never be happy.”

Everyone in the hall is howling. Cursing the king and queen is forbidden. She takes things too far.
